Created originally as a way for kids to showcase the best of the projects they raised at home, it has evolved into youth program to allow kids the opportunity to learn responsibility, individualism and dedication. We bring together over 200 kids ranging from 5 to 19 years old, showing a wide variety of animals from rabbits to cattle, and all the livestock in between. They hail from the 18th District Agricultural Association which includes the Tri County areas and parts of Nevada as far north as Carson and as far east as Tonapah. The students’ ultimate goal is to reach the Junior Livestock Auction where they are rewarded for the hard work and dedication. The community involvement has been astounding in this area as they contribute over $250,000 towards the kids projects. The Eastern Sierra Junior Livestock Show strives to provide a positive environment to promote the development of the youth in community through the avenue of the Livestock industry.
